通常被人們形容為「刻苦耐勞」的機器，都不會是高性能的競賽車種。但K 2008 530 EC-R既是「刻苦耐勞」的機器，同時也是車隊爭勝取分的狙擊武器。事實上EC-R系列替K贏得最多獎項的車款，多謝K以改進控為考量的車架修改、以人體工程學為考量的車身線條修改，令530 E*C R吸引力更上一層樓。
把機油和六前速波箱的潤滑油獨立處理，不單只馬力輸出有所增加，也讓530 E*C R的機油更潔淨，機油溫度也得以降低。
530 E*C R備有電撻和腳撻功能，但重量比起上一代卻減輕了。粗壯的新車架配上鋁合金副車架和新搖臂。尾避震的擺放角度有輕微修改，提升舒適和可以有更漸進的吸震表現。

White Power PDS避震設有高速和低速的獨立調較。直徑粗達48mm的前叉筒，fork芯的滑動阻力有所減少，吸震衰減的表現也更漸進。K的EC系列，除了二衝程機器的EC 125，200和 250之外，還有300cc EC-E stroker，四衝程250 EC-F，EC 450和頂級的E*C 530 R。2008年全線車系的引擎和車架都有更新改良。
